Maruthamali Temple
Lord Murugan is worshipped here in the form of Dhandayuthapani. It is believed that the Marudhamalai Hills have several medical herbs and the holy shrine is said to have miracle powers to get rid of all afflictions. According to puranas, a siddha overcome by tiredness, take shelter under the shade of a Marudha tree and pray to God to help him to quench his thirst. Suddenly water sprinted out from the roots of the tree and leaped in joy, the saint worship Muruga and this place is called Marudhamalai.

Coonoor

Siruvani Waterfalls
Siruvani Waterfalls (also called as Kovai Kutralam Falls) are located, at a distance of 36 Kms from our Serviced Apartment. These falls formed by Siruvani River are located in dense forest.
The falls can be reached by about 4 Kms trek from the nearest road point between Siruvani Dam and Madavarayapuram. The falls are best seen in monsoon season between June and October.
These falls are very close to Siruvani Dam (5 Kms away) which provides drinking water for Coimbatore City. The water of the Dam is famous for its sweetness.
This place is usually evacuated before 5 PM due to its remote accessibility and darkness spread by the forest. Siruvani Dam is connected by frequent buses from Coimbatore.

Vaideki Waterfalls
The falls is very beautiful and has a naturally formed slope. It is located inside the forest and one must obtain permission before entering the forest. Visitors are only allowed by being escorted by a forest guard into the forest. This area of forest has lot of animal movements; especially elephants. There are lot of incidents of elephants attacking humans, so it is always advisable to obtain permission and get some guards accompanying while entering the forest.

Perur Pateeswarar Temple
Built by the King Karikala Cholan, this temple is dedicated to Lord Siva. Situated on the banks of Noyyal River, the idol here is believed to be a Swayambu Lingam (self manifested). Several rulers of Chola, Hoysala and Vijayanagara dynasty contributed to the development of the temple. The greatest attraction of the temple is the 'Kanaka Saba' or the golden hall which is adorned by a gold plated statue of Nataraja bestowing blessings upon the two sages - Gowmuni and Pattimuni.
The carved out sculptures on gopurams and pillars of the temple demonstrate the uniqueness of Dravidian architecture. The Panguni Uthiram festival is celebrated in full spirit in the month of March.

Annamalai Tiger Reserve
Annamalai Tiger Reserve was originally called Anamalai Wild Life Sanctuary notified in the year 1974 and established in the year 1976. Later, it was renamed as Indira Gandhi Wildlife Sanctuary & National Park in honor of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi's visit in 1961. Located at an altitude of 1400 m, the sanctuary has declared as Annamalai Tiger Reserve in 2007 with an extent of 958.59 sq. km that encompassed the erstwhile IGWLS&NP or Aanaimalai Wildlife Sanctuary.
